I am Responsible for Myself

Bullying Awareness Committee (BAC) at San Elijo Middle School (SEMS)

San Elijo Middle School (SEMS) is committed to providing the safest, most positive middle school experience possible.  To be proactive in preventing the types of bullying that have been reported across the country, SEMS introduced a school-wide Bullying Awareness Committee (BAC) in 2011-12 to help educate students, and promote a more positive school culture.  We welcome parent involvement in making this program successful as we work together to keep students safe and allow them to learn in the most positive environment we can create.  Please note the following events:

Parent Information Nights Have Concluded:
To view the video that will be a part of the curriculum, please contact Assistant Principal DeBora at 760-290-2823 or gary.debora@smusd.org to schedule a time.  The video must be viewed at San Elijo Middle School, and is about 35 minutes in duration.

*Parents are invited to view a PowerPoint and video that will accompany the bully prevention curriculum this year.  This video uses words and name-calling that could be offensive. We strongly advise leaving younger children at home.  We recommend bringing your middle school child to the presentation so you can facilitate the content and assist in educating your child on the reasons why these words are harmful and unacceptable. The agenda of each session will be the same, so you only need to attend one presentation.
We will also be posting the Agenda from past meetings under the Articles and Resources Page.
