Joli Ann Elementary Proudly Presents:
A Jaunt Through the Genres! Our goal at Joli Ann is for every student to become a proficient reader. Therefore, all students will have trimester A.R. point goals as well as personal best goals that teachers will set with their students as they deem appropriate. The theme this year is "A Jaunt Through the Genres." The expectation is that students will become familiar with the spotlighted genres through silent reading, literature circles, and read alouds. Not only will they be exposed to the many different genres, but they will also learn to identify the genres and be able to classify most of what they read into one of the highlighted genres mentioned in the program.. School wide goals schedule will be as follows: Trimester 1 school wide goal (points earned between 8/20 - 10/31) Grade 1 = 5 points Grades 2-3 = 12 points Grades 4-5 = 20 points Comfy Reading Day: 10/31 Mad Science Assembly: 11/2 Trimester 2 school wide goal (points earned between 11/1 – 2/20) Grade 1 = 10 points Grades 2–3 = 13 points Grades 4–5 = 25 points Comfy Reading Day: 2/20 Magic Show: 2/22 Trimester 3 school wide goal (points earned between 2/21 - 5/29) Grade 1 = 10 points Grades 2–3 = 13 points Grades 4–5 = 25 points Comfy Reading Day: 5/29 Picnic: 5/31 Last Modified on August 16, 2012
